I just tried to book in to the 23rd. Booked out but I am on the waiting list. I have booked in for a track day on the 26th of April too. I finally get to ride the MV Agusta  [moto].

Alrighty time to re-sur-erect this one.

So we went from creating a list of about 18 or so people keen to do the Superbike School 6 months ago ... to having 4 (+1 I believe) actually doing it yesterday. I know some others were on the waiting list and there will no doubt be plenty of other reasons ... so I was a little disappointed, but what can I say you missed a good day.

If you have the fundage I can recommend the superbike school, it follows a well rehearsed curriculum which builds logically throughout the day. Honestly there wasn't really anything new to be learnt (well I had read about it all before) but the way you go about honing the skills with your coach ... on track ... does change your perceptions. Importantly they unclutter your mind (basically impossible for me) and have you focus on one thing at a time. Regardless of how good or fearless you are, you are just not capable of doing this on the road.

On the feedback form I said I gained confidence from the course. This is true but I think what I really learnt is to trust the bike ... this goes hand-in-hand with gaining confidence. I don't know how much of it will transfer to my road riding, but I reckon I ended up doing OK yesterday ... so I will always have that.

I would actually consider doing Level 1 again ... but unfortunately it is not something I can afford to do regularly.

I think it will help you alot, at least teach you to have more control of the bike. you should give it a try, the coaches are good and the way the do things on the track is well done

Kaz you are being waaay too hard on yourself. Remember I spent quite a bit of time following you recently. You seem to be very smooth through corners (much like Jukie) ... not something that should be hampering your confidence. Where you seem least confident is the parking speed manoeuvres but unfortunately leg extensions were not part of the curriculum.

But as you seem to be struggling with similar issues that Jukie has I would listen to her ... if she thinks it will help, no doubt it will. If you want more confidence cornering (which will no doubt flow on to other things) this is a pretty good course to take.

Good to hear you all had a great day at CSS.
It is a great day of leasons and practical application, I know it certainly helped me.
I'd love to have come to do level II but for me booking so far ahead at this time of year is difficult.
December-February is a better time.

Hi Guys

Have been off bike for 4 weeks after been high sided, my second incident in 4 months after 15+ years riding. To say my confidence is down is an understatement, will get bike back this week after repairs and not sure where my head space will be when get back on.

Have done several stay upright courses over the years that have been great, but not sure if I should go that way again or superbike, have allways been unsure on superbike, but gets great reviews here on the forum.

Any advise would be great as I think some training would help with the confidence issue, and trusting the bike, same as Kaz remarks.

Hey Caz

I do know how you feel, after my acco, in Italy, all the years of experience went out the window. I have been riding for 22 years now and it seem like i was starting all over again. The best thing i found was to get back on the bike and start riding again. What i first did was ride on the roads i knew the best, and the most comfortable on. Then i rode it every weekend or whenever was possible until i was with one with the bike. Yes it did take a while and the ozmo guys were very patient with me doing so. Once i feel better with all the roads i was on, i then enrolled in the superbike school. It made me have more confident on the bike and what the bike it can do. I now have more faith in Jukie and the roads, but i am still cautious of other riders and driver, but feel much better with everything now.

take you time with getting back on and don't let it get to you if it doesn't happen straight away. it is very normal to be cautious of everything at the moment

Thanks for the wise words, will get straight back on, as long as the sun is out, never did like wet roads. and then try and get a superbike class later in year.

Hoping this will make me a better rider in the bigger picture.
