I've currently got an '02 620 Dark and have been hankering replacing her with something newer and bigger. How swappable would accessories for Monsters be? I'm specifically thinking of my flyscreen and Mandarina Duck sidebags.  ???

Monsters look pretty uniform in those areas but I don't know for sure and I don't know how to check other than removing my accessories and seeing if they'll fit on whatever I find at a Dealers'.

Yea, you will not have a problem with that, If it is up to the M 1000. the 1100 everything is different.
I have a 2002 620 and a 2005 M1000, and swap parts back and forth with out any problem. The wheels on the M1000 are wider, (the  rear one) as it is the swing arm as well but body work and frame are just the same. Once the S2R came out all the same but swing arm again and foot pegs, And a Plastic tank, no longer able to swap as easy.

Good luck.

Basically anything outside the engine internals and some clutch bits will swap from any 01 or newer DSS Monster to another. Some items you can go even further back in age. Fly screen and bags would be easy swaps to any DSS monster. IF you go S*R models, you'd be able to take the screen, but the different exhaust would present a problem for the bags.

Woo hoo!!

Would either of you happen to know if the pipes under the beer tray are also all the same size/distance apart form each other?

Juan

What year model are you thinking about swapping parts with your 02, 620?
Like I said, the frame on my 02 is the same as the frame with my 05, I believe the frame changed in 01. I could be wrong,...! and than the frame changed again with the new Monsters, 696 and 1100.

That'll depend a little more... IF you're talking the slip-ons - yes they will swap freely. If you're talking the header pipes attached to the engine, not as much. It'll depend more on the engine in the bike. A number share headers, but not everything.

Yeah, the frame-pipes under the beer tray. I'm designing a custom tail-tidy that I'll form from fiberglass but I don't want to put time/money/effort into something that won't fit on anything else.

Not sure what I would get, it depends on what's on the used market next year.

This is all wonderful, by the way! Thanks guys!

The only real difference back there is that 2000 bikes had 3 mounting holes for the beer tray. Later bikes starting in 01 had 4
