Buying Memory

So, I was stupid when buying memory for my new box and got a 3-pack of 2GBs for 6GB total expecting that I'd be able to get a single stick somewhere. Not the case. I'm having trouble finding anyone that sells single sticks. I'm thinking my only option is to return it and get 2 2x2GB sets unless somebody knows a place that sells single sticks. For anyone that's interested, it's Patriot memory PVT36G1600LLK.

what cpu are you running? if it's something like an i7, with triple-channel memory controller, you'll want to install 'em in threes, not singles or pairs.

Mmmm... Saw those. I've had bad experiences combining memory. And none of them are on my mobo memory compatibility chart.

Yeah...I have checked with Patriot and it doesn't look like they are in the habit of selling "performance" ram in single sticks...

of course not... a single stick isn't a "performance" configuration.  ;D

It could be if I were stupid the other way and bought a 2-pack for an i7 core processor and wanted a 3rd to round out.  ;D
