Just got back from Barber this weekend.  Awesome weekend.  We got to run some new gopro camera's for the first time.  Unfortunately our buddy with a 1098s lowsided in turn 12.  Fortunately we got some really cool footage of the wreck.  Check it out!

I was out on the Monster this weekend around Leeds (Bass Pro Shops, specifically)... I didn't know anything was going on at BMP this weekend... Did you enjoy it?

How's your friend?

What happened?  That is really good quality video - I imagine even better before Youtube compression.

Bummer. BUT the footage was really clear. AND, I'd like to point out, I love Barber.

Barber is Awesome, we drove all the way from Columbus OH to get there.

Mike (the 1098s rider) is fine

The camera was a gopro wideangle and it was our first time using it.  Very cool little toy.

We have a ton more footage but I have only got to editing the crash footage so far.  It was so cool I just figured I'd get it up there so people could see it.  Amazing to watch him dismount in slow motion IMHO.

The bike should actually repair alright.  Most of the damage was cosmetic and he was running race plastic and such.  New clip ons, foot peg and body work, brake lever and maybe master cylinder and he should be good to go.  Not that that's cheap but he didn't get into the frame or anything.   I'll get some more pics up when I get things sorted out.

Next time y'all come down, send me a message. I'll buy ya a beer. I'm 25 minutes from Barber.  [thumbsup]

Yuck.  I've done that before.  Lost the front tire.  Nice neat lowside.  Do you know what tires he was running?  OEM rubber or something for the track?

Pretty sure he lost the rear.  Look at the way the rear of the bike comes away from him in the slo-motion.   He was running the pilot race tires.  They are DOT but are a track compound not a street compound.

+1 on looking like it was the rear that went. Thanks for uploading the video!

These aren't nearly as exciting as Mike's video but are pretty cool. the gopro camera is really neat. I'm thinking I might need to get the new HD gopro.

a little bit of an off angle for this comment, but it looks like steven is getting his body positioning very crossed up...
