Been thinking about a less sporty bike and have kinda narrowed it down to a triumph Speedmaster and a Scrambler...  Any opinions on either one before I come out to ride?  Any other options for a newer bike @ around 6K?

I'd choose the Scrambler because I'm a scrambler kind of guy.  It looks good in black.

I found an 09 demo with 2K on the clock for 6K...  The Speedy is an 08 with about the same mileage.  I'm a Scrambler guy too, but I'm not sure if it's the bike or watching the Great Escape with my dad when I was a kid...

don't have a guzzi dealer in town, and I'm already building a cafe off an 79CB600, bt I'll travel and get a second cafe if she comes with teh bike.

Scrambler, rode one for a couple of days a while back and it gave me almost the same  Grin as the Monster.

The new ones are scramblers in name only.  I think they are probably close to 100 lbs heavier than the originals.  Almost like a cruiser with knobby tires IMHO.  But to each his own and I think there are a lot of happy Scrambler owners out there.

The Scrambler is the best looking of the new Triumphs, IMO.  May have to get one of those one of these days LOL.

I bet that Guzzi would look good in silver.

I like the looks of the Triumph Scrambler, but when I rode one I was thinking "why not just buy a KLR650?"  Other than looking good, there wasn't much else that I liked about it.  However, I also test rode a Thruxton and really liked that bike.

I bought an XR650L to be my "slower bike", but other than not having the acceleration of my Ducatis, I ride it just as fast, even with the dual sport tires on it.

Dude I used to ride the race with that Sunday morning crowd in Marin and a couple of those guys had those things. I couldn't even keep up on the Superhawk. So ever since then its been in the back of my mind that I don't really need all this stuff to go fast.

A friend of mine has a Scrambler, the first thing i noticed when I sat on it was how heavy it felt. I expected it to be a lot lighter than it was.

The 6K demo Scrambler is gone, but I figured out that I'll have about 9K for a new bike so rather than blowing it on a new Scram or spending 6K on a Speedmaster, I think I'll shop around for a leftover '08 Hypermotard.  I'm keeping my '96 Monster, but I need something more reliable.
