When I die I am hoping that's what heaven looks like! [laugh] In the mean time can I get a job there just dusting off the bikes? [thumbsup]

I have been at MotoGP the last 2 years.  Yes I agree with pretty much everything you said there.  Just not sure what 100k people would look like at Barber.  The track is definitely cooler.   Although, I would really like to ride the course at Indy 1 time, mostly because motogp road there and it's also mostly the F1 track from years prior.  Always cool to watch a race on a track you've been around.  Makes it all that much more impressive to see the things those guys do.

Why do F1 and MotoGP run the Indy road course in opposite directions?

Just curious

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

Oh yea, Mike make the beast with two backsing Hailwood's TT winning Ducati is there. One of the volunteers ask me to "tell him what I knew of the bike" as I was looking/drooling at it.  I told him how old Mike was when he raced it, who built it, his average speed over the course etc etc.  He was impressed and asked how I knew all that stuff.  I asked "how many Ducatis you got? He said none.  I said, "well there you go".

Was tis guy a little older, white hair, with a friendly face?

George Barber (the museum's namesake) walks around there all the time and loves to speak with the guests. He especially likes it when they don't know who they are talking to.  [thumbsup]

I completely agree, however, where would everyone sit?  It doesn't exactly have the seating that Indy has.

When I was there somebody mentioned that new seating was going in on the hill directly across the track from the pits.  That would be a most excellent place for seating.  I already is, just no seats. Already banked at a 45 and most excellent view of a large portion of the track.

Yea, what you said. But, he was an architect form Birmingham I believe, nice guy, and had a sickness for English sports cars as I recall.  Hell that's easily as bad an addiction as Ducatis.

Thanks Joe for taking and posting all those wonderful photos.

I bet you guys were like kids in a candy store .

Last I read there were more than a 1000 bikes on display.

I would imagine you are not allowed to sit on any of the bikes but that would be so cool.

How long or should I say how many hours drive from Columbus to Barber ?

I think Barber is an awesome track, but isn't it a little small for MotoGP?  I guess I've never seen the European tracks in person, so I don't know how big they are.

Pulling a trailer full of 3 bikes, it's 9 to 10..... with mike in the truck add a little more

I think if I was in my GTI with no trailer I could do it in under 8.  It's about 600 miles.

I promise to make better mistakes tomorrow.
