Mine is the 200HP version.. the new GTI has a similar engine, the one in my car has been "smoothed" (read detuned) to 197ps.

you can fix that  ;)

its the same engine as my A3. I reflashed it as quickly as I could. 250hp and 300ft/lbs. the torque is awesome. I'm sure theres a revo dealer near you.

these cars are like legos. you can just grab parts off other cars and with little modification they bolt right in the S3 intercooler will fit it. I did the S3 intercooler about a week after I did the software. much better on the top end. pulled the bumper and swapped it out, cut the ends off the hoses (different connectors) and it was done. best part is they all have factory numbers so dealers don't realize the mods and the software is switchable back to stock so they never know. even the S3 turbo bolts right on and looks close enough most dealers will never notice.

one thing I'm always jealous of is the european seats, you guys get WAY better seats, they make ours all wide and flat for our fat asses to fit comfortably. we very rarely get good seats, R32 and old MK2 GTI/GLI  and some of the S4 recaros  were the last good seats we got. the rest are lame. S3 seats fetch a very high value here, I see them go for $3-5k.

Those Sciroccos are awesome. [thumbsup] Wish we could buy them through the regular VW dealer network here in Canada, although the price would no doubt be pretty silly.

Good point on North American seats. Generally speaking, they're terrible. Too soft, too wide, and too slippery. The best seats I've had in a car were the Recaros which came stock in my '04 Jetta GLI. Cloth with excellent lumbar adjustment, high bolsters, and infinite adjustability. My current 2010 GTI has nice, supportive leather seats (with heaters - the Recaros were not heated, something my girlfriend never forgave to car for) but they're still too wide and the bolsters not high enough for my liking.

You should be able to order "Euro" or North American" width seats when buying a new car.

As soon as the warranty is over I'll maybe get the ECU flashed but without 4wd I don't really think this car needs that much more power.

The seats are really good, the stock Scirocco has the same seats but with something resembling Alcantara and cloth and the same shape goes all the way up throught the range so they must be good. I wasn't aware that NA cars have different spec seats.

Wow 3-5$K for S3 seats!!

I have to write in and give full credit to Dodge for my diesel truck. My truck is a 1997 Ram2500 4x4 club cab longbed. I bought it September 12,2001 with 56k miles. The previous owner had put a truck camper in the bed. I used the truck for my contracting business for two years, then bought a van for that and semi-retired the truck, using it to haul trash to the dump, pull my 11,000lb boat, and carry essential personnel to our local hospital during snow events. Except for routine maintenance, a new fuel solenoid, and replacing the exhaust last year when it rotted out and fell off, the truck is stock, and has been as reliable as a good dog. After 13 years, everything still works, including the cruise control.
I just went from Virginia to Naples Florida, then Key west, Miami, back to Naples, then Orlando, and Daytona beach, then back to Norfolk. Total trip was 2638.5 miles, averaging 17.2 mpg with two people, 200lbs luggage, and a 350lb dirtbike.
After nine years together, I still love my truck.

The cummins is a great motor and if you back it with a 5 speed it's even better.  Dodge automatics had some issues during that time, no FHE.  Heavy duty dodges like that have solid axles like they should, all around pretty stout trucks.
