Brings up some good points:
http://www.motomatters.com/news/2009/11/02/bridgestone_f1_withdrawal_highlights_spe.html
Perhaps it a bit less of an issue for MotoGP, as there's 2 years to go for Bridgestone.
And, IMO, there's more manufacturers who have the technology to deliver what's necessary for bike tires.

Opportunity for Goodyear
Sounds like BS wants to focus their "research" efforts on tires they can actually sell and make money with.....F1/MotoGP must be an enormous drag on their R&D yen. Also, it'll probably take a while for last year's spike in oil prices to work its way through the production cost of tires and get sales heading back up.

Yeah, maybe a trade, Goodyear to F1 and Bridgestone to NASCAR.
I'm sure if they were convinced it was 'advertising money well spent', they could justify the $ outlay.
But it is a pretty much fixed cost deal, more conventional advertising can be shifted around or not done at all.
But what is Bridgestone's annual advertising budget?

why not get some supplier like Yokohama or Dunlop while you are at it!!..or perhaps Firestone or Continental or even, god forbid, Michelin again?

dunlop currently supplies tires to the 125gp and 250gp series.
firestone is the same company as bridgestone, so i don't see them being interested.
