I think the side panels are $300 ,definitely helps with appearance although you can't see it when you are riding it.

Thats funny, I rode today with a friend that has had many Ducatis, and showed up today with his new 1125R with that body kit. WOW, what a difference.  He rolled into the parking lot at the base of the mountain we ride & people (Bike & race snobs) were wrapped around it to check it out.
Of course it's black (The fast color).   [laugh]

Back on topic: Ducaholic, sounds like you can't lose in the long run  [thumbsup]
Thanks for the post ride report, that is what I think about that bike...except for the cockpit. I can see the headlights when I ride the 675, but I look like a praying mantis.  [cheeky]

Still would like to know what you ride.
I promise to make better mistakes tomorrow.

I thought I mentioned it, guess not.  Its a 97 M900 with ferrachi high comps and all the trimmings.  Its getting up in mileage as its just turned 39k. Its in good shape but is starting to need some things. I would like to redo the suspension, its developing a few leaks including the verticle cylinder head gasket.  Needs a new cush drive and voltage regulator. All this stuff is easily doable but I'm afraid once I start its going to end up with a full teardown so I can paint the frame.

Then there is the Street Triple R which I really liked, but didn't care for the $12K price tag

That's what I was thinking.  Any chance you were given the price for the Speed Triple?

Interesting thread.  I rented a 675 down at MMP to see what it's like, and I loved it.  My favorite supersport so far (I have tried the 848 or Ninja yet).  The brake were a little soft on the one I tried, and the transmission wasn't Honda-nice, but the engine was awesome and the suspension worked great for me.  Overall it felt like an easy bike to ride, even compared to the excellent Japanese 600s.

"R" or not, that is still pricey for a striple, even with the full Arrow kit.

Just curious, but what are you looking to get for your bike ?  Doesn't sound like $2500 is a terrible trade in deal considering some minor work to be done, mileage, and the tax benifit?

WetDuc

I ALMOST got a 675, but didn't because it just wasn't hooligan enough.  I have only 1 bike and I wanted it to be naked and nasty.  The 675 is beautiful and I would love it as a second go-fast bike.

You know I wasn't even thinking about the tax benifit.  Hmmm.
