Finally got to take the M1100 out for a run this morning.  I previously just putted around town because business kept getting in the way.

My take on it:  Ducati M1100 = BRILLIANCE!!

Still taking it kinda easy on the engine (after this mornings ride it only has 85 miles on it) because I want to work all the moving parts in for the first couple of hundred miles.  I can still tell the torque is going to be addictive.  I think it has more torque than my Suzuki TL1000S did (too long ago that I sold it to know for sure) and it definitely has more than my SV1000 did.  The TL probably had more on top end but I don't care about that.

But now the important stuff; the handling and braking.  WOW.  I've had Japanese sport bikes before but I never understood the Ducati following.  NOW I DO!

Please do keep me informed.  Right now I'm talking to a couple of buddies of mine that paint Harleys.  They gave me some leads on who to contact about getting some red graphics put on the tank and seat cowl (I already have a carbon fiber front fender coming).  Taping the graphics off and painting them isn't the issue, I know lots of people that can do that.  But, I want to keep the matte silver finish so the graphics will have to be hand edged with black using a detail brush (basically pin striping on both edges of the red).  That will hide any imperfections in the edge and also seal the edge of the red graphics.  I need someone good at that.  That is an art in itself.

The M1100's torque is a beautiful thing.
You may find that while riding it, any problems that were on your mind have disappeared. This can be truly addictive.

The new 1100 Monster is a very nice machine.  I have demo'd one a few times but yet to pull the trigger.
