So of all the things I need (my google fu is weak tonight), I could use a nice nut, bolt, and washer assortment (standard). Standard steel fasteners, say from 1/4 20 size (maybe slightly smaller) up to 1/2" hardware. Plenty of everything, with it all in it's little bins.

Someone makes them. Someone here probably knows where the hell I can find such a thing.

While we're at it, I also want spools of wire 8 gauge to 16.

Help a poor soul out.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I need the hardware, not the containers, and buying it piecemeal at the hardware store is a waste of time and money.

You can buy pretty decent kits full of the standard stuff for $20-$30 at most of the bigger automotive stores. Saves a ton of money when you have a project going. You still need to grab your hardened stuff piece meal, but their good for most of it.

ohh, well then you could start removing nuts and bolts from random things

it'll give you a hobby, and when you get home you get to figure out what size they are!

Does this do it for ya? ;D

Exactly! I would expect you older guys to have barrels of random nuts and bolts. I'm only 25 and already have a bucketful myself.

I left my buckets of bolts in Mass-not worth it to ship 'em-I had like six and could scrounge pretty well. As it's now a 2 hour round trip to go get anything I don't have, I'd rather just buy in bulk to start with and acquire more the old fashioned way, instead of running out for stupid things, like four fender washers and two 1/4-20 bolts.
