I suck at it-if I have stuff to do, I can't help but do it-even if I shouldn't be doing it.

Sprained wrist? Let's spackle!

Day off to do nothing? Refinish the bathroom!

Visit the vacation home? Tile the floor!

Seriously-someone slap me.

You can come help me build this 911 motor.  I also could use hand doing this front pump seal on a Cayenne Turbo.  Not that I can't do it, I just don't feel like it.

do you enjoy doing those things?
Most things that make me feel relaxed and enjoy myself involve sweat and sometimes some pain.

Now if you mean meditation well that is different, but it doesn't eat up a whole day either.

Now if you are suppose to let an injury heal, be creative and do things that will allow you to heal, but still be stimulating....i have a busted wrist(some type of popped ligament, suppose to take it easy) and i still go to the DoJo 4 days a week, i just concentrate on other movements. In fact, i discovered i am actually better now using the busted wrist to strike with in a way that doesn't hurt my lame limb at all.

I too am most relaxed when i am working on my house, or bike or cars, even thou i may cuss my pants off, to me it is a good time. Sitting around 'relaxing' too me, sounds like being lazy and wasting precious time that i would rather be spent being productive. There are very few times i can claim to actually doing nothing all day...relaxing.

But if you like, i have a buy one get one 'slap in the face' or 'kick in the pants' sale going on right now.

I do enjoy those things, but they grate on me if left undone, so I try and get them finished off quickly, the moment it's done, I forget I ever worried about it, and sprint onto the next thing. Work until I drop, basically.

I'm with you guys. I currently have the hamthrax and I am still putting in 10 hour days.  I have to medicate heavily to stick to the couch for any length of time.

He just needs to read the story about the old bull and the young bull.

He'll figure it out.
