Hello All,

I have a 2005 Ducati Monster S2R.  I managed to lose my two black keys in the course of a move.  Fortunately I kept the red key in a safe place.

I had a duplicate cut at my local Ducati dealership.  I was given a print off with the steps to sync the black key with the red key.  It did not work.  My dealership told me that they could sink them for me.

Now they tell me that I "need to get TWO black keys in order for the sync to take."  For the life of me I don't understand why you would need two keys in order to sync one.

Any experience or in put?

Yes, you need two black keys to get it to work.
That's just how the system is programmed.

The second black key doesn't have to be *yours*, but it would be a good idea.

While performing the sync ritual, remember that you also have to stand on your left foot while twirlling your right foot behind you in a counter-clockwise direction.
