my girlfriend hates motorcycles, but puts up with mine with the occasional (any chance she gets) nagging about getting rid of them and how dangerous they are.

Gee, sounds like my wife! She hates (and is scared of) guns and motorcycles... why the hell did she marry me? [bang] Since I am older than she is I always fall back to my favorite comeback: "I have been riding longer than you have been alive. I'll stop riding when the reverse is true!" She's 40 and this year is my 45th year up on two wheels! [thumbsup] [moto] [drink]

When I was in the hospital two and a half years ago with four crushed vertebrae from being attacked by a wild turkey at highway speed on my bike (the story is buried somewhere on other threads, I won't bore you with it here...) in a drug induced stupor I told my extrememly worried and upset wife (who thought I was going to be paralyzed from the neck down!) that she should just come to grips with the fact that none of this was going to keep me from riding again. Gee, that went over well! [roll] The only reason she didn't pile all my bikes out on the curb for the monthly bulk garbage pick up is because she didn't know where the keys were to all the OnGuard locking cables!! She's a saint too... but she still hates guns and motorcycles. [laugh]

ungeheuer

Ungeheuer had motorcycles.

Then for 20 years Ungeheuer didnt have motorcycles.

One day Ungeheuer said: ".....y'know I think I might get another motorcycle...."

To which Mrs Ungeheuer said ".....I dont think so..."  Followed by a   l o n g   speech about the dangers.....blah, blah, and responsibilities... blah, blah...and........... [coffee]......

My current Monster is an '09 M1100s  ;D

And the long speech about dangers..... etc... etc....??  Oh I think its still in progress.  Funny thing is that I dont hear it from inside my helmet  [moto] [moto]

It only took me 5 years of nagging to get my wife on board with me having a motorcycle.  She doesn't like them and wants nothing to do with them, but she knows it makes me happy.  She doesn't like how it has pushed the Volvo out of the garage.  She doesn't like that I am constantly spending money on it.  She doesn't like how I always talk about it.  But she really hates when I talk to it.  She must have overheard me pregnant dogin' about her.

My wife lets me play with motorcycles and I can even watch her practice pole dancing while sitting behind my bar ;D

She thought it was a good idea to go buy a bike at the other end of the country and ride it down. Twice  ;D While we had no car. She's a keeper.

I had an ex that did not enjoy me riding. She went batshit and cut up all my gear, threw my helmet down the stairs and tried to kill herself.  :-\ I've learned to keep away from such people

I am pretty sure my husband feels the same way.  My obsession with motorcycles drives him nuts.  I try not to talk about bikes all the time, but usually I am not successful.

My wife is enthusiastic because she knows it makes me happy. She worries, but I had her read my MSF class manual and she worries less now. Besides, she finds it "hot"  when I come in covered in grease, brake dust and other gunk after I'm wrenching in the garage.

I want that shirt.

Had a Monster before we got married (sold just before to help pay for things), and just a few months later, I bought another Monster.  She worries, but likes to ride and trusts me as a rider (just not other suckass drivers).

The other day she told me that she'd sell my bike if I ever did wheelies (old bike was 620, new bike is a m900).  I told her no, she can't, because the title is in my name  [cheeky]

After 7 years of Monsters, I'm sadly bikeless right now.

When AM and I decided after a year of jetting back and forth across the country to stop doing the long distance thing & take our show off the road, I packed up a U-Haul and moved across the country to Arizona, with her sharing the driving.

When I rolled the Monster down the ramp upon arrival, she said "That looks like fun. What are you going to ride?" We started looking for a second bike right then, which eventually came home as a '98 ST2. She'd owned a Sportster before I met her, but hated the ride.

Since we've both tried the marriage thing with miserable results, we've agreed to stick with the happily ever after part without the formality of a state-issued license.

In Texas half of that bike would be hers if you bought it after marriage and if you paid for it out of a joint account. Don't ask me how I know this! [bang] Damn community property bullshit!! Just tell her that the 900 was designed by Ducati not to be able to do wheelies and besides things like that scare the hell out of you! [laugh]

I want that shirt too!! [thumbsup]

My wife bought me a brand new S2R1K for my birthday  3 years ago. It was a total surprise. I don't know why, but guys get pissed off with me whenever I tell the story. I guess I got a "keeper".
