i have a spy glass on both sides of my monster 750 engine.  Is the one on the right different from the one on the left side?

If you are talking about the inspection site glasses, they should be different.

The one on the left of the engine (shifter side) is clear and unobstucted for finding TDC and checking timing. The one on the right is the oil-level sight glass and it should have a reflector in it to make it easier to see the level of the oil.

thanks for the response.  just to clarify....the one on the left should have no fluid inside, it's only for engine timing?

The one on the left will get some oil on it when the engine's running.
