How'dy,

Just put a new Barnett Clutch kit in a 98' M900S, and installed a new DP Pressure plate/ New springs, bolts, keepers.
I also filed back the basket so all edge's were nice and smooth.

When I took it for a ride, I noticed it is really difficult, almost impossible to get into neutral. And when I am stopped, in gear, clutch in,the bike wants to move forward, not quite disengaged.
It also is very clunkly getting into gear, once going it is great.

Is this normal with a new clutch? Does it wear in the first bit? Do I need to adjust my clutch lever to engage more?

Help anyone?

Cheers

Ddan

Your stack height is likely a bit bigger now so the plates may be dragging.  If you haven't changed the clutch fluid, you might as well and make sure you've got no air bubbles trapped up by the master.  Adjusting the lever out one notch will help.

you've described exactly how things are when your clutch is dragging a bit. A while ago I had a leaking clutch slave. Just like you neutral was hard to get a 1st gave an extra thunk. Follow Dans advice and bleed the clutch
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
