Looks like Ducati is beginning to sell accessories and clothing online directly to US / North American consumers.

I got an email from Ducati today with the link:

http://store.ducatiusa.com/

Quote from the Ducati email:

"To celebrate the release of Ducati's 2010 apparel collection and just in time for the holiday shopping season, Ducati is excited to launch its exclusively North American Online Ducati Performance Apparel and Accessories Store.

The new North American Online Ducati Performance Apparel and Accessories Store includes the full line of new 2010 apparel recently introduced at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan, Italy as well as Ducati Performance accessories. "

Hopefully DNA won't get sued by that particular Ducati dealership in the Southeast Phoenix area who screwed them last time they did this...

yah, I wonder what were the reactions from the dealers who sell a lot of the same stuff.  Is DNA competing against its dealer network?

Here, in Europe, the online prices have been a little higher than in-store prices.

someone needs to keep prices in check IMO.  some dealers are charging WAY too much for some things.

Just to clear it up a bit - Ducati North America isn't filling orders at all. Once an order is placed all the dealers can login to the system and see it. If you have it in stock you can place a physibid (which just says you have it ready to ship). Whoever is closest to the zip code it is being shipped to gets to fill the order.

So it is really no competition for online stores like ours which specialize in Ducati parts. In fact December has been our second biggest month of all time - so I'm guessing it didn't have much/any impact on us.  waytogo
