That is a shame. My guess is that competition from BST and the sour economy did them in.

Wow. That's no good, I liked that there was at least a little competition out there. I noticed that was purely equipment related, did they have no batches of wheels unclaimed to liquidate?

Eh, more market for BST which means potentially lower prices for us. After having seen the cross section of Dymag carbon wheels I would never run them.

How do you figure? Typically competition drives prices down...

Wow, bad news. I remember in the early 80's when Erik Buell was the Dymag importer for the US. Built up several early 80's superbike replica street bikes with Dymag and EPM wheels. Used to deal with Erik all the time before bikes had his name on them. Still have a rear Dymag for a '85 FZ750 Yammyhammer if someone needs one!
Hey, Lawson won the Daytona 200 in '86 on one! [moto]

Because BST wasn't lowering their prices to compete with Dymag. They just have a far superior product. The market for carbon wheels is small and the more of it they have the greater the economy of scale.

No, but you are inferring that they didn't select pricing that was competitive to begin with, or that they won't raise prices in the future since there is no competitor

fair enough, but i don't think having less manufacturers is a good thing. competition helps drive innovation.

Only if it's proper competition.
Casey Stoner will not improve his lap times by racing against me.
