I have seen a Titanium frame pre-loved for $11K US
New they are $15K US, so between frame, levers and wheels you have over $20K
Not to mention the forks and rear shock which might well be $15K plus

So $35K and we haven't even spoken of engine, brakes, bodywork, paint or all the rest of the bibs and bobs
i.e. Titanium bolts throughout etc....

So D16RR

It looks to me that they are almost replacing everything and blueprinting the motor. Why would they have started with an R model?

Why not?

Seriously Danno ... what has given you the impression that logic has played any part whatsever in the decision making of this build?

... you could also sell the leftovers as 'R' parts I s'pose

I'm no expert on Ducati specs, but I assume the R motor would be way more special than the bog stocker or S model.  Bigger intake and exhaust ports, Ti valves, flowed heads etc???  Just guessing though  Huh?

When I read the blog I was amazed how little Ducati was actually left.

Why does a dog lick its goolies??  waytogo

If its a bona fide shop project, you would think that the accountant would write it off as product advertising or some such accountancy/tax system rort and get the taxpayer to foot the bill?? Undecided

Sorta like those V-twin (Non) Harley's, look like the real thing, but there aint a genyooine HD part in them. All manufactured by the aftermarket industry. Shocked
