Check out this new fire fighting vehicle concept!

It'll probably never make it into production, but it looks cool and makes me want to go "pew pew" with those twin laser (water) cannons!!

where does it keep all the water its going to use? i doubt that thing could hold more than 50 gallons. at that, it would seriously compromise its climbing potential.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

According to the article, it carries 475 gallons and maintains a 105 auxiliary tank.

Water is so wasteful and not forward thinking enough.  Wouldn't enough firepower just snuff the flames out?  Put out the fire with LASERS!

Foam?

Just saw another fire fighting setup on a side by side atv that carried 40 or 50 gallons of chemical that produced foam to fight the fires.  Can't remember the figures of how much water it compared to.

i looked at the original site for that prototype. they claim it can carry over 475 gallons of water.
they also have an engineering diagram with a cross section showing the seating for two adults.
there is no way that vehicle can carry 2 adults, a motor, and a tank capable of holding that much water. never mind the pump to move the water.

as for foam....the kind used on wild fires (class A) is a surfactant, designed to break down the viscosity of water. to put it another way, foam makes the water stay in one place longer, but it doesnt replace the need for it.
the only kind that would work without large amounts of water is compressed air foam. but then you need a huge compressor.

i also read a few comments of the opinion that the prototype was in fact designed for the military.......with fire suppression as a slap on afterthought...

Hmmm. Perhaps it prevents fires... By starting them with lasers!

that kills the aesthetic

What was this thing carrying that it needed explosive placards?? You don't need it for fuel...
