Side view mirrors

I need a new mirror.... didnt like my circular bar ends. I always had to take my head pretty far off traffic to look at them, especially since i have clip ons. Any recommendations?
I found some cheap Koso stuff on ebay and i always loved my Napoleon mirrors, they worked great, but that was on a stock ducati handle bar...
and for the record, my bike will probably be knocked over again, so they eitehr cant be bar ends, or have to be able to take a hit by asphalt.

Do not waste your time with the Koso mirrors. I ordered some figuring "how bad could they be, right?". Well, they are complete and total crap. You get a bunch of adapters as well, and they are not even worth putting in the parts bin.

Napoleon bar ends are relatively cheap and are nearly invincible. Worst I've ever had to do is buy a new bolt.

I managed to destroy a set already. :p lol but they really are good working mirrors. I just hate the way they look. Do you have them on clip ons? Ive only had experience with them on straight bars.

My Napoleon bar ends are on clip ons. Great view, they do make the bike a bit wide for lane splitting, though.

Wow... That's talent right there.
I'm running straight bars so no experience w/ clipons. I did see a guy that mounted them on his levers. It looked... Interesting.

Those don't actually look that bad on that R1. I hated the look of the Napoleons on my monster. But they were by far the most functional.
HeMan, have you thought about something like the Monstrack
mirrors? Rizoma makes some pretty cool sets if you are willing to cough up the $.

im not willing to cough up money for rizomas. why? because my bike is going to get trashed again by another d bag. and if my bike doesnt get totaled, its all about keeping her road worthy, aka, im getting fork sliders, rear sliders, big fat cycle cat sliders to replace the rizomas and i need to figure something out about the steering stops, ala how to reinforce them.

Good Point! I just thought that mirrors mounted at the stock position would just be one less thing to make contact with the ground.
It is hard for me to wrap my head around the environment you ride in. BoringAsmake the beast with two backs, NC is pretty laid back. The d bags I deal with usually have antlers and stand on the road in the middle of curves at 11pm.
Just get something like this:

I don't think there is a crash cage for monsters, is there? Can't even get race rails for them.

I bought my bike used from a friend, Napoleon's mounted to to the levers through the pivot bolt. I liked 'em that way because they didn't look too big and overpowering, their only negative trait. Of course, with them mounted that way you can't see much directly behind you. Good views to the side for lane changing.
I remounted them the usual way but they look too big IMO. I got two of the Third Eye bicycle mirrors and have been happy since. They work pretty well, give a great view of what's behind you, and are super low profile. Also, they only cost $15 each so if you drop the bike it's cheap to fix.

I doubt it, but it would be interesting see one fabricated. Possibly using the same diameter tubing and go with the same color as the bikes frame. Someone creative and skilled enough might be able to pull it off. Probably not, but who knows.
