I think it's time for me to say good bye to my Monster...

In the past 1 1/2 years that I had my Monster 620, I've truly enjoyed her. My confidence has grown with my appreciation for a beautifully built bike. People always think of it as a much faster/powerful and much more expensive bike. But lately, I've begun wanting more and started looking for ways to improve it's performance, not just cosmatics upgrades. Many of you have been great in offering your expertise and opinion. But it's a domino effect that once you change one thing, you need to change another, and so on and so forth. $ adds up real fast.
So I think it might be time to let her go and look for something else. The thought of being bike-less is tough...
Until 2 weeks ago, I found a S2R1000 on eBay and it’s located just north of me. The price was just too good to be true. I’ve been paying attention to used bike market and eBay and it never gets this good. After some very carefully executed strategry negociation with the Wife, she agreed to partially fund my Christmas present. So here I sit, as the proud owner of 2 extraordinary machines.
Here’s the pic or this never happened!
Now I just need to find somebody to take the Yellow Duc off my hand so I can repay the debt to a VERY UNDERSTANDING WIFE!

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Nice change up.
I did the same thing earlier in the year.
620 for two years then onto the badest of all.
You won't believe how much more fun you're gonna have nor how that extra power/torque will free up
to rev it less and ride a big fat smooth torque curve.
I'm guessing you'll save the bling discussion till the new year
Happy Christmas to you...................

You are going to love the S2R. Open the clutch, drop the udder and get some pipes.
Sweet find. In my experience bikes are like women. Once they are replaced, the memories fade really fast, as long as the replacement is better than the original.

I agree 100% on the suggestion of giving the 620 to the wife if she is open to the idea of riding.

The HP/Torque is incredible. It's so plentiful at all range. I really don't need to downshift and gas it like I do with the 620.

I have made a shopping list for myself. It's ranked by priority and affordability - Rear tire, rear stand, clutch works, exhaust. I need to save up as much as I can for the exhuast and it will give me time to research on what I really want.
I guess what the Wife doesn't know is that she is actually taking my addiction to the next level with more things to buy and more parts to be obsessed with.

I've tried that approach before but she has no desire at all. I was gonna get an Aprilia RS50 for her to get her started on riding. She didn't want to have anything to do with that. She is perfectly happy with her scooter, which we go on local rides with. So getting her to ride the 620 would be too much for her

Grab a box and start removing unnecessary parts. Windscreen, reflectors, frame stickers, clutch cover, beer tray(not sure if it's there), passenger pegs etc etc. Nice bike

Shame ... one of life's great joys is chasing the Boss' cute tail through the twisty bits ... Monster on Monster (so to speak)

It already has a tail chop so I don't have to go thru the trouble. Yes, the reflectors and passenger pegs are coming off right away. The clutch parts will be upgraded very soon, along with the rear tire. As for the frame stickers, is it required?
