Evony may not be a total scam, but there's a lot of talk about the client installing malware, the chinese owners having created the game as a more direct way to get money from gamers than gold farming in WoW, stealing pictures for their ads, potentially breaking anti-gambling laws, etc.

Of all the games you COULD be playing, I'd suggest this is one you shouldn't consider.

The BruceOnGames link above is a great starting point.  All the dirt you'd ever want.  =)

I played through most of the summer. Got bored and gave my cities to a cool cat named Jayro from one of my alliances. Waste of time thread worthy. I was to casual of a player to get very far.

BTW, no malware or any other spam crap from it. It's clean if it's from the legit site.


I have got some adware from a another site though, I think it was gamevance.

Played on both home and work PC for a month or so. No malware from the official site.

Neat game, kinda passive. Get in a good alliance so you have decent people to chat with. But to be honest, if you like city building games like this, I would check out Civilization Revolution for any of the bazillion platforms it is out on.

But hell, its free so play it and see if you like it.
