Engine would probably run a lot better if he had a custom crankshaft built.
I can't imagine that the crankshaft being welded together the way it does is optimal for performance or reliability.

The crank's from a Honda - it was the two con-rods that he welded. Not ideal, but if he got the measurements right, it should have no impact on running at lower RPMs.  OF course, you wouldn't want to rev the shit out of it, lest that weld fails.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

yeah no shit, I saw those things stuck together and my jaw dropped. you want to talk about committing.

I think he's just showing us the crappy welded side of the con rod for shock value.  The other side is pop-rivetted for safety.    8)
