Honda VTR250

I have a friend that is brand new to motorcycling.  I wish the Honda VTR250 was available here in the U.S. as an option for her.  It seems like the perfect new rider bike plus it sounds decent and looks decent.  This good be something that a new rider would want to get rid of as soon as possible.

What about Hyosung?  I'm starting to see them around Phoenix. They make a 250 v twin "sport bike", not sure of seat height, etc.

I beg to differ!
I have just purchased one for my son, they are really popular here in Australia
I love borrowing it , it is yes a Monster rip of in looks but as they say imitation is
the greatest form of flatery or something on those lines Im half a sleep.
It is a great learner bike , solidly built handles well and sounds amazing with a good pipe,good brakes for what they are and are really fun to ride.
You can ring its neck revs out over 10K and only has 5 gears so its geared well for city riding only has a top speed of 130klm which I am happy about having a 16 year old on.
I got rid of the stock bars and put my old cromo steel bars from my Monster on and stuck a pipe on from
these guys in West Australia

They hold there price second hand really well so well that we picked his up new for only a couple of thou more than second hand with 20-30K on the clock.
Don't be to hasty to trash it.

Honda can now sell them in Europe as the 2010 model has fuel injected so they pass there
environmental laws

Thanks for reminding us.  I did know there was a previous version, but I didn't know they ever brought it to us her in the U.S.  I wasn't paying attention to bikes as much back then.  Maybe I blocked it out if they all look like the one in the picture.

Thanks for the tip.  This one is the same style.  We may look into this Hyosung 250.


The 650 Hyosung looks decent too.  I want what they feel like to ride.  I think I would be more comfortable with a Honda over a Hyosung, but a test ride might change my mind.

My first bike was a VTR250 and the only reasons I got it was it looked like the monster and was a 250 (we have limits on what learner riders can rider here). It was a great bike. Easy to ride. Did everything and could be ridden hard. i also have a great pic of a friend of mine who is a supersports racer doing a wheelie and a burnout on it LOL

Good to know, but with bike sales plummeting I don't know if Honda will bring anything new over here anytime soon.  Suzuki had the TU 250 we are going to look at.  It gets good reviews
