I keep running into this term 'radial brake calipers'.  Can one of our 'illuminati' tell me what is new or different about these radial calipers?

Scroll down to the radial brake section.  I'm sure there's some difference of opinion on whether they work better or not in many groups.  Like a lot of new technology, the first ones out always work great.  They're high end items on the priciest bikes in the lineup.  How could they not? ;)

Radial calipers provide better feel and more stopping power.

Only if you (a) slap some stickers on 'em; or (2) paint the letters in the "Brembo" in red.  Vroom vroom.   [moto]

Like many new parts, most riders of average skill will only really be able to exploit their performance capabilites while parked at Starbucks.  "Are those the new radial calipers???  I read about those!" ;)

interesting read on the differences of the radial vs traditional mounts. i really liked the Siemens eBrakes, wonder if they'll eventually end up on Ducati. and the constant contact brakes look like the start of a new hub for wire wheels
