Does this bike make my butt look fast?

« on: May 28, 2008, 02:32:21 PM »

It's right there behind the passenger seat in your 1985 modded DeLorean.  Grin

I watched Back to the Future with my 10 yr old son last night. He loved it (except for all the gross kissy-face bits), and I got a huge chuckle out of the car speedo that goes ALL THE WAY UP to .... 90 mph!!! Whooo hoo!  laughingdp

And then there I was trying to explain the "Tab" joke to a kid who's never heard of Tab, and doesn't know what a bar tab is....

An oldie but goodie, that's for sure. Highly recommended.

isnt that a quote from the movie?   laughingdp  MJF says this right before one of my favorite lines in the movie

"Chuck, it's your cousin Marvin, Marvin Berry.  You remeber that sound you were looking for..."

Such a great movie!

Oh, yeah. I love the bit just at the end of that song, when he's writhing on the floor with his guitar, and looks up to see everyone just staring at him....

My favorite line is when his dad is trying to ask his mom to the dance in the soda shop, and he's so nervous he says, "I am your ... density." Instead of "destiny."  laughingdp bang head laughingdp That's right after he swaggers up to the counter and orders a, "Milk.      Chocolate."   drink

As a former scientist during my extended college career, that should be 88 miles per hour.  Roll Eyes

Christopher Lloyd was great in those movies as the Doc. Probably the best role he's ever done except for a few spots on Taxi.

Oh, yes, 88 mph to activate the flux capacitor, but the speedo tops out at 90 or 95. Lots of close-ups of the speedo inching its way up to the unbelievably fast speed of .... Eighty. Eight. Miles. Per. Hour! Which is almost as fast as the car will go.  cheeky

I love Christopher Lloyd. His timing in this role is perfection. Huge, huge double takes that made me laugh even when I knew exactly what he was going to do. My kid would fall over laughing, and then explain to me in great detail exactly why it was so funny...  laughingdp

My dad always talked about a professor in his college days that was cloned perfectly by Christopher Lloyd. Needless to say it was one of my dad's faves too.  waytogo  And so was Porky's ... go figure. Must be that 50's time period.  Roll Eyes

One of my all-time favorite "feel good" movies.

So many classic moments.  One of my personal favorites is watching the amount of satisfaction the red-headed guy is getting when he cuts in on the dance between Elaine and George.
