Does anyone have any Info on what inexpensive spray can paint might be available, that buplicates Ducati Red?
I bought an '07 Monster that was missing the flyscreen & tail cowl (Seat cover). I picked up the needed items used, cheap & battered on eBay and would like to refinish them myself. I've had very good success in painting other bikes from cans and was just wondering if anyone here had experimented?
Thanks!

I have painted my trimmed beer tray. It's the right color, but it seems a bit darker due to the fact that it's applied on black plastic. My other issues were lack of patience and the unavoidable dust. Clear coat helps a little with hiding the dust though.

My can says:
Deltron (DG)
OEM Code 473101,487111
Rosso
DUC.487111 Prime

I don't know if this helps. If you're stuck - PM DucPainter - he paints sometimes.

Not your fault.

PPG has done a terrible job of making formulae developed in the Euro market available in the paint systems most commonly available here.

I don't know if the reverse is the same regarding colors in the US market.

Rustoleum Sunrise Red is a decent match for *some* ducati reds, so YMMV.

My red S4 lives with a red/white S2R800 and red 848.
They are not the same red at all....

I've done some minor brackets & things with Rust-Oleum Auto gray sandable primer and top-coated with Rust-Oleum Auto High Gloss Cherry Red (209587).  On the brackets I can't tell the difference even in sunlight.

Check the DIY painting thread for more suggestions.

Their are 2 later reds, the D166 is a stand alone , all others are a match, earlier their were 4,& this was dependent on the primer & base used, for instance some SS were called lite red ,their primer was white mine the primer is red .For a perfect match proper base coat is imperitve. try colorite for 11oz can ,though not cheap @ 35.00,well worth it along with the base you will need.
