I couldn't afford $1100 for a exhaust system on a touring bike, couldn't find a reasonably priced used system, so this is what I did:

8lbs lighter per side cored, sounds the same as a set of termi's, cost about $200 for the materials (which I will make available in a kit).  If you don't want to core them yourself, cost would be $325 + shipping to return.

the material you are using is fibreglass?  it will eventually cook out of the muffler.

use stainless gauze and it will last longer than your bike, that's what staintune uses in their sealed cans.

nice job though!   waytogo

and you have the original cans in case the po-po  Police come after you... Cheesy

Nice work! It looks like you kept the cats so there is still back pressure too!

ST2 with a cat?  huh?

I don't believe the ST2 had a cat at all, they were under Euro1 and bikes were not required to be catalyzed.

It's silent sport packing, it's not fiberglass.  One of the best packing materials out there..

Cats?  No cats on an st4s that I know of...(or an st2).  Maybe an ST3?  Unsure, but what I am sure of is it sings now with a cut lid and the pipes.  The reflashed ECU will be icing on top Smiley

That packing works awesome, it is a ceramic and not a fiberglass. We have used that stuff in the past on our exhaust.

i think he might have been thinking of the header with the restrictor/mix box.  same setup on the earlier 900ss models.

do you have a link for that packing?  i might try it, i want to repack the Bubs on my Alazzurra.

The packing material can also be bought in a bag and wrapped around the tube in the exhaust.

I believe the US distributor is in aneheim ,ca

You can also get it on line from numerous places.
