probably a tech question.

You didn't mention how long it's been glowing.  This is probably important.

Did you post this the instant you swung your leg off the bike?

If so, it's fine.

If it's been an hour and they're still glowing, I'd guess your bike has reached critical mass and you probably won't have enough time to reach minimum safe distance.

Nice knowing you red beard.

well as i stood there warming my hands by the engine for 3-4 min i noticed them a nice orange color.
after i put the bike away and hooked up the charger i looked again and they were still glowing, but nowhere near as bright as they were before. that was prob about 7 min after i first noticed it. i can't get to the rat board from work for some reason so i can't ask if others have had that same thing happen. i'm not ready to call it a problem just yet as i don't know itf it's really all that bad.

I know it's a different bike, but my 675 would glow the head pipes only when in the garage and I held it at 3-4K for long enough.

I never noticed it after coming in from a ride.

Does the bike run well?  I can't imagine it's cold enough to lean things out that much.
