No shocker there.

There is still a qualified tech in the area.

Yes he is.

He's a sponsor...http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=18933.0

I wouldn't be surprised to see his location changing in the future.

Something in Laconia perhaps.

ouch

Quote
Ducati is ignoring all the economic conditions and will continue to import more bikes and leave their dealer network swamped with non current product, bad move on their part.  They are really going into 2010 blind just as they did in 2009 when they projected 10% growth over 2008 (one of their best years ever).  So i am not sad to see that relationship end just the one with friends and great customers.

This from a guy that took the premier northeast shop to ruin in what, 4 years?

I'd be looking for a scapegoat too.

I don't know that's totally fair though.  All of the dealers I talk to have said their sales are remarkably slow and that Ducati has been pushing bikes on them.  Coleman's usually has 8-10 Ducatis on the floor, last time I talked to them they had 14.  They just aren't moving as fast.

Sucks all around, no doubt.

Although, I have to say, having a shop out in the middle of "make the beast with two backsing nowhere" is not a great idea in my book.  A shop like that needs to be closer to bikers.  He will still get the high-end work, but all the smaller stuff (like ppl who don't want to do their own oil changes) he loses due to the distance, and work like that is >gravy< because you can teach your dog to do it and charge full labor.

Probably isn't...there is no love lost between us.

Bruce managed to flourish in the same location...through growing a business.

They got any cool leftover billet accessories? I remember they had made some cool valve covers, cam covers, and even a clutch side cover (long before speedymoto). Since they be closin', I'd be willing to throw some jingle there way to clear out old parts inventory.

Seems like back in the day, they used to be one of "THE" names for Ducs. Kinda sad, but I never had any FHE since that part of the country is far too cold and lacking sweet tea, for my taste.

growing a business when the economy is booming is arguably a smaller feat than keeping a business afloat when the economy is in the shitter.

seriously, small business loans 5 years ago were easy to get, you just needed to show up with a balance sheet showing you weren't bloowing all your income on coke.  now, it's nearly impossible even with perfect credit and assets.
