so spawned from my post about the 10 yr old audi that someoen at work is trying to sell for $10K we started discussing what kind of cars i liked. i am really intrigued by this discussion and would like to hear what a larger base of people thinks.

so what kind of cars move you?

here's the list i posted, see if you can figure out the theme.  :)

Quoteof the cars i would buy the audi isn't all that high. this is namely due to the price

however, if i could get one of the S wagons i would laugh my ass of at each stop light.

the cars i would buy (this is assuming i have a decent amt of money for the down payment and good credit)

mitsubishi evo X - yes, i have always loved this car and i would take it over the wrx sti (i like the shark look, but miss the bug eye fog/driving lights down low)

subaru wrx sti - 2nd choice because the evo is the first rally car i saw. love the awd and the way they reworked the diff a few years back. the wagon would be my first choice. if memory serves, it was only 100lbs heavier than the sedan.

1999 toyota celica GT4 - yes, i'm gay.

mid to late 90's eagle talon TSi or mitsubishi eclipse gsx

mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 - probably way out of my price range, but i have always loved it.

subaru impreza or legacy

VW GTI - i drove lethe's and loved it. i don't think they are making them anymore though. also the only vw i would buy

random truck that has 4wd and good towing capacity. i figure if i had the other cars i could tow 1 or 2 bikes on a small trailer, but the truck would be better suited.

audi is on the list, but it needs to be the 6 or 8, s model, and quattro. (and i would have to have a shitload more money to spend)

I would love to have a 65 Ford escort all rallied out.  [thumbsup]
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

Not tough to put the BPT (1.8L Turbo) from the 323 GT into a Festiva. Sport Compact Car did it, and said it was fast as balls. Jay Leno has a SHOgun (3.2L Taurus SHO Yamahammer V-6 mounted amidships).

My list:
Porsche 968
323GTX
Lancia Delta Integrale HF
Porsche 944 w/ 350 smallblock.
Rotary Miata
SVX (Don't as me why. I'd love one with the EJ25T in it.)
Renault R5 Turbo (old school cool)
RenaultSport Clio (3.2L V6 amidships)
Mustang SVO
Lotus Cortina
Suzuki Samurai (w/ 1.9L VW TDI motor)
ANY 80's BMW 6 series... (LOVE 'em!)
E30 BMW with a M30B35...
E28/E39/E50 M5
2002Tii Turbo
3.0CSl Batmobile
E30/E36/E46 M3 (KILL for a REAL E36 Lightweight)
Audi Coupe Quattro
Escort Cosworth
Datsun 510 w/ 260Z motor.
V8 Focus
MX-3 (with J-Spec KLZE)

GREAT TOPIC!! I'll simmer over more.

speaking of the taurus SHO engine....

my buddy had a mercury mystique. same thing as the escort and the sport versions of both came with a v6 in them, so i reasoned that we should be able to get the SHO engine in without too much of an issue.
unfortunatly he never went for the idea.  :(

Mystique is the Mercury-ized Contour... Which came w/ the 2.5 Duratec... the Escort clone was the Tracer.  (I have a hot-rodded ZX2.... kind of a Ford geek.) ;D

so you're a mopar guy eh?  [laugh]

i've always liked really big cars that could move well or tiny cars that put up big numbers.
i've never really been into drag racing though i do love the noises they make.

doh! i meant contour. i just equate the contour to the escort as it seems to be the same basic car as far as the line-up goes.

Actually...this list is too long to post here.
Frankly, I love high end sports sedans. I love european supercars. I love Japanese supercars. I love American supercars(No Corvettes!!!). I love American Musclecars. I love Australian Musclecars.

My top preference though is for sports sedans. I like comfort and performance. Plus it's nice to smoke some douchebag in a V8 mustang in my lowly supercharged 6 cylinder sedan.  [evil]
