Does anyone know if there is a place to take pictures from?
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

there are lots of places but it's usually up to the organizer to give permission.  You can imagine if they just let people run around an open track. Dangerous.  Most organizers are pretty good at letting you click some pics in certain corners. Just have to ask.

You're supposed to be, but believe me, you would have more than than you would think possible.

I'm gonna blame that on not enough coffee.   Insert "fun" where appropriate.     [roll]   ;D

he's in the fast group

Your version of fast may not be the same as many other people.

One track day I was in the bowl, not riding particularly fast but enjoying myself.  Out of the corner of my eye, Nate blows by me.  At that point I woke up and tried to keep up with him.  I was all out, couldn't go any faster!  I managed to keep up with him till turn 11.  Turn 12 came and Nate was gone and I was exhausted.

Fast is all relative.

Tini, the Fishtail days are perfect for all levels but especially beginners!  Just show up and act all lady like and half of those old instructors will go out of their way to make sure you have fun.

TiNi

but, in addition to the fear...
i'm not sure i can get the time off, and it's also expensive

Im smart enough to recognize Im a pretty fast B group rider and a competent A group rider (as in, sometimes get passed, but don't do much passing)

I know where my limit is, and constantly push and poke at it.

One thing I know for sure though...

There's always someone faster.  Like ridiculously faster.

Most often if it sounds like a chainsaw going through withdrawal. . .

you will be passed, and will never see the rider again until you're back in the pits [laugh]

I feel the same way.

I used to get nervous before a track day.  I talking not being able to sleep the night before.  Now things are different.  I sleep like a baby.  I'm very relaxed because I know I'll have fun the next day.

When I drive through the gates do I start to get very excited.

I forgot to mention, you do it once and you will not be able to stop!    That's when it starts to get expensive.

Well, I already turned in my vacation request.
July 21st thru the 28th, allowing 2 days travel time each way. With all this talk of track days, i may revise my request to include the 29th. ;D

the fear should never stop you. it should only keep you aware.

This map is upside down, the plan is written in crayon, and the weather forecast is from 2011.

I think it's a request to pin the thread. . .
