Is the speedymoto top triple the only one made for the 1100/696? Are there any other companies out there that make them, or will a different model fit on the 696/1100... I want to install clipons but have yet to find a new top triple, and have yet to hear from speedymoto... and judging from the other post about them, I doubt I will.

if you are doing clip ons what are you trying to do? you can remove the bar mounts and the inserts and go with the clip ons.

I do not like the look of the stock clamp, want something better looking and new to go with the new bars... I know I can use the stock one, but was just wondering if other model ducati top triples would work with the 1100/696

Style and Performance is making a set, but it has the hole locations for the stock or their bar mount, again optional.

The short answer is "yes, probably".

Now here's the long answer: When I ordered my top triple from Speedymoto they were not yet listing their top triples as fitting 696/1100, but they assured me that their "universal" monster top triple would fit 696/1100 and sure enough it does, they now list it as such - along with a whole range of earlier monsters..... soooooooooo my point is that if Speedymoto's top triple fits multiple monsters, then doesnt it follow that if you could get hold of a cyclecat triple (or other) for an older monster that it would also fit 696/1100?  (And if it did.... I would be envious coz there is no sexier top triple on earth the ye olde cyclecat.... *sigh*)  Astonishingly speedymoto are showing both clear ano and black ano top triples as .....   :o :o  IN STOCK.....  >> http://www.speedymoto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=MTC << Yours for $289.95 apparently....

The top triple for older monsters isn't the same as the newer one. All 2002 and newer monsters (not including 696/1100 because I don't know) use the same offset and steering tube & fork diameters. The only change is the addition of superbike forks (53mm top instead of 50) which is why there is sometimes an option to change the diameter.

Older (pre-02) Monsters use a different offset - the same as on supersports and the 851/888.  They also have a narrow steering stem. You can't use an old-monster triple on a new monster and the new-new monsters could be different again, to that particularity I do not know.

So I take it that the cyclecat top triple for sale on oncycles for $80 wont fit...?

Guess the only option is to shell out $300
