Got Duc

So today I went out and got a BACON, Egg and cheese on a roll. I also purchased a container of Tropicana Ruby Red Grapefruit juice.

I normally don't have breakfast but I felt like it today.

When I opened the container of juice (which by the way is the wax covered paper cartain normally 16 ounces) I looked inside. It did not look right. I looked in again and it looked like there was less juice in it. I then looked on the side of the container where the ounces normally are and there was no amount. I had to look in the serving size area of the continaer to find out that it was only 14 Fl ounces and not the normal 16 Fl ounces as it had been in the past.

I guess this was a part of the recession and it's way to make up the lost revenue by giving the customer less for the same price as they paid before.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

They're not the only company doing it.
+1, my friend is a dairy dept. manager at a grocery store.  He said a lot of the packaged cheese etc. is a couple ounces smaller at the same price rather than upping the price.

We've seen this many times before.  Cereal companies did this a few years ago - made the boxes smaller (thinner, actually) so there was less product inside.  Same price, of course.   [roll]

Check your beloved # of  [bacon], it's most likely a 12oz pkg.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

That extra space in the top of the packaging is so you can top it off with vodka, obviously.

This Thanksgiving I noticed all the bags of fresh cranberries had 12oz  regardless of brand. This not only means they're selling you less for the same price, but that if you need a pound for a particular recipe you now have to buy two bags and figure out what to do with the leftover half-pound.

I first noticed this a few years back with dannon yogurts. They got smaller... same price. Bryers ice cream recently went from their stright sided 1/2 gal containters to something that tapers, and is less than 1/2 gal... and of course same same price. Oj is the same way... booo on all of em.
