I do prefer the more elegant left side pipes I've seen on some of his other bikes. The heat isn't bad if the pipes are coated with a cermanic coating.  If heat from the pipes was too great then I'd go with these pipes he made for his Web Surfer bike. He does a great job of tucking the exhaust into the bike, so it looks custom made. Most after market and some stock exhaust systems just seem to hang way too far out and away from the bike.
