Probably the dumbest thread ever: Contact Lenses and Glasses

Try wearing the glasses for just a short time (maybe an hour) each day for a couple of days and I think you'll be fine.  It just takes a little while for your body to adjust to the lens distance.

When I got my new lens prescription (I wear contacts every day, but put my glasses on at night before going to bed), my doc told me that I'd adjust, but it could take a couple of days.

I wear glasses (pictured) but they only give my wife a headache

But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

+1 - Over the summer I was wearing my contacts every day. The first day I wore glasses I had headaches all day long. Take a pain killer to help.

+1.  I wear contacts 90% of the time (Acuvue Oasys are the heat), but when I switch to glasses after a long period of contact use I feel a little weird....and I'm only a -1.00.

I have worn both...

For some reason I see better with glasses.  Not sure if it has anything to do with being near sighted in one eye and far sighted in the other.

This thread reminds me I need to have an eye exam.  :P

When my wife got her new glasses, she was having a hard time adjusting. The old glasses she was used to were made wrong. The center of the lens (lined up with the pupil, measured with those strange binocular looking devices) was WAY off on her old pair (thanks Lenscrafters!). So her new lenses, which were right, were causing her eyes to correct, giving headaches. She went back to the new optometrist and he figured out the problem. He made lenses that were half the distance for her to wear for a few months - no charge. That solved the headache as well.

I wore both for years. You will adjust to the glasses, just fine. Your brain is just trying to figure out wtf is going on.

However, there is some truth in what you have said.

I seem to be adjusting fine, partially because I was forced to wear them for quite a while on Thursday, so I have adjusted pretty good from glasses to contacts and back to glasses.

Thanks all for your help with this.

These are my first glasses in like 10 years. Probably not the best of decision to go so long wearing contacts. But I will say, I can only remember sleeping in my lenses a few times, even in college. For some odd reason, I'd always make it a point to take them out, no matter how drunk I was.

Have you taped the center of them yet?

Not yet, but someone at work told me I looked like Buddy Holly.
