Any Evony players here?

Just started a few hours ago. I'm a love warcraft, this is similar but *mostley* free. So far it hasn't cost me anything.

Gee......I avoid these type of games because my idea of fantasy escapism does not include a world full of other geeks, but this game seems worse. Role playing in an exploitive world run by some rich bazillionaire out to con me out of all my money just doesn't seem like a fantasy

Did not realize that. I haven't shelled out any cash for it, and now I won't. I did get a spam message almost imediately linking one of those "do all this and get a free computer and lot's of evony coins" deals, now I see why. I have advanced pretty far in the game now. I'll not be purchasing any "coins". Fortunately I didn't use my main Email. I used an unnecessary alternate.

if you want to get into an mmorpg, just get world of warcraft.
the game is impeccable, and $15 a month really isn't THAT expensive. i spend that each week on coffee for christ's sake.
new expansion coming out soon too, so you might be able to get a deal on the previous three (vanilla, burning crusade, and lich king) once it does.

Hehe, all the WoWees I've met are a little off in the head.  I guess I shouldn't say all. I met 1 that a reasonable guy. He was also a recovering WoWee addict though.

wouldn't call myself an addict. i play a bit though. it comes in waves... one month i prefer playing halo and forza3, next month i play some wow maybe... it's nice to have options.
