I was curious when folks might be planning to go to the IMS this weekend.  I might sneak over on Saturday, but am planning on being there most of Sunday.  Others?

I am on the fence as to exactly when I'm going to be there. But I am going at some point for sure.

I am saddened to see that aparently KTM will not be there as a factory presence. There might be some there by motivated dealers that want to have a mini-showroom floor and make some contacts, but I somehow doubt it. Apparently the same with Triumph and BMW and Aprilia, from what I have heard, but I could be wrong.

I totally forgot about this event.  Thanks for the heads up.  Not sure when I'll go, either Sat or Sun.  Is Sunday better for deals on parts?

Likely start with brunch and then head on over.....

May go down Friday evening after work, but definitely on Sunday.
Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

hope the place you got booked has underground parking for Moto's since it is supposed to rain Saturday night and I know how you are about making sure your machines are purdy and clean no matter what!...some of the parking garage companies aren't too keen about bikes in their garages and try an turn them away or park them off in places aside from the norm.

I'll be there Saturday. Bringing the GF and friend and his wife.  Will start with brunch, probably in Adams Morgan at The Diner.

Can't really miss me - 6'4", 270, full beard.  No idea what I'll wear.

Looks like saturday's the day.

For those who haven't met me yet - I'm going to wear my DML 'Titanium' shirt. IF you don't know the one, it's Black with silvery Duacti 80 font on the front that reads (you guessed it) Titanium, and has an x-ray on the back of calf with screws, rods and pins.

Also probably be toting a camera and burgundy cam bag.

I am going to be writing a very pissy and long rant to Cycle World in regards to this show....it has declined every year a bit more for the last 3 and I am quite frankly pissed I spent money for that....

I got 2 very distinct things out of the event....

1) I luckily got to look at the bike I think I want to purchase next, but only because a local dealer brought that line of bikes in, NOT Cycle World.

2) Gerbing had the heated gear cabling I needed, because no other vendor there had any kind of heated gear there.

the rest of the show( for the most part, with a couple exceptions) was dirt merchants selling crap and the most poorly placed displays from the big manufacturers I have ever seen....Ducati had a much better display this year than the last 2 IMHO and that was the most, and probably the only, improved thing that was done for this IMS show.

I'd say your dis-satisfaction should be aimed at the OEM corporate folks, even the HD was a local dealer not corporate, yet Ducati shows up as small as they are. And I heard NY was no better, at least I saved a train ticket. - Gene
