T-Rex vs pitbull stands

I have a rear SSS pitbull stand that is awesome. it works flawlessly, build quality is great. beefy tubular design and beautiful welds.

Then I decided i should really get a triple stand. and since the combo on a front + DSS rear was cheap. I picked it up. (actually i got it as a gift from eric on NYMCC as a favor helping him swap out the front of his bike for a S2R1000 front, and needed the front stand to finish the swap!)

anyway, the thing works. its half the price of the pitbull stands, but man...if you can afford a pitbull go for it. The holes are all misaligned and require some elbow grease to put together. Also, you need bolts to attach the 2 legs to the arm. The metal is a lot thinner in comparision (this is based on weight alone) and you just cant beat pitbulls quality.

Thats all folks. But if your on a budget this thing is a steal once you get it all sorted out.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I bought some cheap ass dual sided stand for my 99 750 when I first got it.

Several years later, it still make the beast with two backsing works fine and is sturdy as hell.

Last year I got some cheap under fork stands for both my bikes. They were like 35$ a piece from Iron Pony.

With about 5$ in parts from the hardware store, it is rock solid.

For the price, trex is hard to beat. Theyve got a good warranty too. I didnt have any problems with bolts lining up, etc. I wouldnt use them every day as in track use, but for what they are, they do ok

i thought i was bordering retardation for a momment. then i looked all over the internet and found the SBTG review for pitbull stands.

the pin has to be 100% flush with the hole in the triple.

which means they sent the wrong one.  [bang]. which also means i wasted 30 mins trying to figure out how to use it.

I sent them an email. I hope they dont expect me to mail the thing back to them, cause im wasting shipping money thats probably 1/2 the cost of the item.

Oh and one of the pins for the triple adapter 100% stuck in there until i find a drift that fits in that hole and drift it out. the hole is just way to small.

yea.....im not buying anything from Trex again. ill snap pics when i get back to the garage. Its too make the beast with two backsing cold in there right now.

He Man

ok props to trex warranty. they are sending the correct pin free of charge.

Id still go with the pitbull one though.

I know I don't have the same cred as He Man on the boards, but my T-Rex stands arrived super fast and were perfectly aligned and all of that.  I've never seen the pitbull stands, so I don't have something to compare it to, but mine are more than sturdy enough for the bike and struck me as being quite well built.

I told them what kind of bike it was going on and the triple pin they sent is exactly the right one.  My bike is sitting on them in storage now, so I guess I'll have to wait until I get back from Iraq to give the full story, but for the months before I left they were great for every day use.

i have an under-the-triple stand from t-rex. when i ordered, they were very precise about what bikes i would be using it on, and made sure to give me all the pins i needed. the first was free, the other one was like $8 or something... they have great customer service.

i had my S2R sitting on the SS rear stand, and a front FORK stand for a week without even a worry.

i will say however that i did bust one of the snap rings that holds one of the wheel axles in place on my race stand for the gixxer, but i think it may have been from me trying to use it on my own, and cranking the bike from an angle. easy fix though, just need to find the right ring.

I just ordered a SSS rear stand from T-Rex, a long with frame and front axel sliders.  Very good quality and everything fits.  The stand seems to be a little more "reinforeced" with the way it's built, compared to the Pitbull.  Also it has a few more bell and whiste, like the wheel stop and that you can lift the wheel from the front and back.  I felt I got more for the money.

just a note, that wheel stop isn't strong enough to try and take off your rear nut.... bent it lol.

I have the TRex SSS stand for my 996 and I'm very happy with it. although I have never had a pitbull to compare it with, the value and quality of the TREX stand is unbeatable, in my opinion. i also have their frame sliders on my monster and am very happy with those as well for the same reasons.

maybe i got a lemon. :-\ seems like everyone is giving trex a thumbs up which is why i went with them.

Im not going to send it back eitherway, i fixed it with a hammer mostly. ;D  im just waiting my new pin now so i can use it.
