Suspension Expert Needed - Paging Ducvet

Not to beat a dead horse, but here it goes:

I have a 2004 S4R that I'd like to finally upgrade the suspension on.  I don't race the bike and don't intend too.  I just the best, most economical upgrade for my normal riding which involves both short blast, and long cruises up to a couple hours on country roads.  

I spent a lot of time online and read all the how-tos and what not, so I know how everything works, I just don't know where to turn.  Race-tech, Ohlins, Slinkys, full sets, kits...God there's so many options.

I'm 6'3" and weigh ~190# with gear on, if that helps.

Any help is appreciated!

He's a certified Ohlins tech and a sponsor. He does great work, is helpful, and his prices are reasonable.

He's done my suspension with race-tech parts, which transforms the bike, and I'd venture dozens of other DMF members in the northeast.

I've got racetech valved forks and springs. They are 'good'. They aren't mind blowing great, but I didn't expect them to be.

I think if the back was similarly the valved, it wouldn't be as noticeable, but the penske out back really feels planted and seems to allow me to notice a shortcoming here and there in the front.

That being said, its not so much that I could outride the suspension on the street.

The racetech valve is good. The stack they recommend isn't the best for street riding.

You could play with it.

+1 On Eric's (Ducvet) work. It made the bike a whole lot better. He also rebuilt and revalved my Sachs shock which also made a noticeable difference!
