Cambodia. What can i say, been in the country less than 48hrs and it already chewed me up and spit me out. First morning site seeing around Phnom Penh i got shook down by the "Police" within a block from my hotel. Riding the wrong way down a one way and no license. The guy want $50, he ended up with $4. From then on i just wanted out of the city. Cut my stay short by a day and went to Siem Reap. But the strangle hold of the city was tight. Flat tire first thing in the morning, 6am. Fixed and back on the road, another flat 6:45am and less that 2K's away. It was my fault, i failed to pull the nail out of the tire when fixing the first flat. I knew better to check the inside of the tire but didn't. Finally i escaped it's grips.

New country new set of challenges, or a party bus!

For the most part they know its bullshit and just a quick way to make a buck. If they really wanted they could have taken the bike and thrown me in jail siting any story they wanted. Im only pulling out 1000R next time, which is like $.25.

It's been almost a week.

Stopped by Angkor Wat for a few days then decided to get the hell out of Cambo. Figured out the bike only does 50k/hr cause it takes me two hours to ride 100K. Which makes for some long days. Had another flat somewhere in the middle of an almost 500K day. Hit the border to Laos the next day. Took a few minutes to get paper work for visa and insurance,  then 5 hours at the customs office. 5 minutes for paper work and the the rest of the time drinking beer, eating and playing volleyball with the customs officials, border patrol and police. What a great country! Been looking over maps and it seems Laos is going to have some great riding. Just wish i had a proper bike to enjoy. My SM690 would be perfect right now. Anyone want to box it up and send it?

I might Dan...  But until 2015, I have to scratch that itch domestically, once annually (or so) on my Harley.  After 2015, my daughter will be 18 and I would feel easier about staying overseas for extended periods...

I'd probably do South America first as my Spanish ain't too bad. :D
