I used to Be All I Can Be, digging holes, stringing concertina wire & blowing it up  ;D

These days I'm a Field Engineer for a major Telco, building SONET & ROADM rings that allow all you guys to satisfy your internet fix.

can you still draw it all by memory?
are you at the airport, or the offsite one?

When we got here they made it clear we needed to "impress" them on the map draw.  4200 something items draw from memory, with only a few bits of info on the map to start.

I think most of that info left me by the time I passed stage 2 and was on the floor.  I don't care about no stinking radial degrees between this VOR and that vortac, nor do I care that it's 51 miles from this point to that.

5 miles, 1000 ft.  Apply those things while juggling 25 some off voices (half of which arn't paying attention), vectoring off course for T storms, coordinating an emergency because of a bird strike/cracked windscreen, reasoning with a superviosor who is trying to "back seat drive" (and never could in the first place), and figuring out what is for lunch....all at once...THAT is when it's fun.  Of course, they say I'm a sadist...... I currently do make the beast with two backsall.

If anybody in the Austin or Houston area (where I'm considering moving soon) needs a philosophy major with retail and teaching experience, too much booze knowledge, and a shoulder that's soon to be useless until it mends from surgery (as of next week), gimme a call... :P
