MOTO RUMI. Loudest motorcycle ever. but it is equal to it's coolness

Stumbled upon this the other day, and Italian Moto exhibit at an airport...

I was at a classic event at Brands Hatch many years ago. John Surtees did a few laps on a 3 cylinder DKW supercharged 2 stroke race bike from the 1930's. If the Moto Rumi is noisier than that, then I'm impressed! It was said, back in the day, that when the works' Deeks were racing in the IOM, you could hear them on the mainland. Seeing as the mainland is 60 miles away, that is LOUD!

I've posted various pictures of cool Italian bikes in various states of decay/restoration I've snapped over the years at a friend's annual "River Fools" party the first weekend in April. He holds the party at the first location of his Moto Guzzi dealership and happens amid a variety of bikes and other stuff he's accumulated over the years. He's got a couple of Guzzi singles (as well as singles by BSA & Harley), but I'd never noticed this one before:

Maybe I should do some research but I bet those bikes they're sitting on are a bit bigger than 250cc.  Looks like they are anyway.  They look like a forerunner of the Honda DOHC 450cc-500cc engines except I see only one exhaust header.  350cc?? 500cc single??   Just sayin.......

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

They are not 250cc, they are 175cc bikes.  That is a dual cam head single.

That's the front of a factory souvenir postcard.  Here is the back:

They are sitting on their racing bikes, the numbers are listed (1 Assoluto means 1st place, etc)
