As frequent visitors here will doubtless know, I'm a huge sucker for Guzzis.
I enjoy the so-called Dual-Sport thing too. And so I really want to like the Stelvio...... to find reasons to own one.
But each time I revisit it, I find too many reasons why there are better options in that category. Its too heavy (heavier even than BMW's R1200GS). It also has unremarkable suspension (less travel at both ends than the Big German).
This, I think is the main reason I've never owned a Guzzi.... despite the long held desire: Guzzi are repeat offenders at asking too much and delivering too little. They coulda made a genuine competitor to the GS1200 beasts.... but instead... the Stelvio turns out IMO to be a fat wanna-be.
Which is a pity coz I like the concept and I'm sure it's a fine touring bike in it's own right, but it's 1200GS pretensions are no more than skin deep IMO.
I want Guzzi to (again) build a dual sport based on their 750 small block.....

and that would be less crappy than the stelvio? there's a very deep hole in hell reserved for the ntx650.
have you ridden a v7? I tell people they're slow, and then they go and ride one and later say to me "when you said they were slow, I didn't think you could mean that slow".

Less crappy? I dunno. Less overwhelmingly heavy? Sure.
No I haven't ridden a V7. Slow is OK for a dual sport. Have you ridden a DR650?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
