it would be flat out keeping up with a shifty gipsy on a horse.
I can picture that

That's great. They love their motorcycles. Another era for sure.

A longtime display bike of a well-known Italian bicycle aficionado, this bike appears to be a factory racer with no known history. These bikes are discussed in Mick Walker?s Aermacchi/Harley-Davidson Motorcycles published in 2005 by Redline Books (
www.redlinebooks.co.uk
). Chapter 2 discusses the two-stroke racers 'the new breed of two-stroke tarmac racers from the Varese factory? did achieve Grand Prix and World Championship success, something the earlier (four-stroke) bikes had largely failed to deliver. The original prototype put out 20HP? still with 4-speeds ? lapped faster than the best CR93 Honda DOHC twin or Bultaco TSS.' Features include racing brakes, remote float Del Orto carb, expansion chamber design exhaust and very light weight, especially without the somewhat heavy full fairing. To race the bike today, a lighter fairing from Airtech should be substituted. Sold with a Bill of Sale.

Gotta love it, simple lite and it has racing brakes. No idea how my uncle missed that mod on his record setting 68 Aermacchi HD that we have been restoring.

It's great you have a project bike with such a cool (and personal) history. That's a nice version too.

Not to be picky but not only the brakes but the aluminum rims as well! Back in the '70's when we were trying to make silk purse racers out of the pig street bikes we had (
) one of the most desirable mods we were after were those rims, spokes & brakes. Frame work was out of the question for us and we had to make do with fiberglass tanks. Aluminum tanks were only owned by the gods. If you could roach a Fontana front brake set up you were stylin' big time.

I'm not sure about the gold swingarm but, overall, I like it!

Well, the GoldFinger like swing-arm aside. But just for the pimpy color, not the design.
