I have always thought the Laverda twins looked like enlarged versions of Honda 305 engines of the 60s.
  When they were designing their new range of twins in the mid '60s, Laverda looked at which modern twins were selling well. These happened to be Honda's CB72/77 models. So, they copied the general design, and came up with the SF range. I had an SF3 back in the day................Wish I still had it!

The drum brake is just for the show bike and will never make it to production.  The V7 Clubman Racer concept bike was shown at EIMCA in 2009. Then the V7 Racer was actually released in 2010 and made it to the U.S. for 2011.  So I wouldn't be surprised to see this version released soon.
