How much? I didn't see any prices. So are these tanks plastic or kevlar?
Carbon Kevlar composite.

Kevlar, it says. Carbon as well? About $ 1,500 plus add ons for the one Monster tank they already have.

Do you have any insight to share?

Hopefully the issues have been worked out. I had the first EFI Fuel-Cel made. There were some problems that set me back over a year on my build and cost me two beautiful paint jobs. I ended up buying a DP CF tank.
His tanks are awesome, and I really wanted one on my bike in the worst way.
I know of no issues with any of his tanks other than mine. My shop has used his tanks for many years with no problems.

Something also to consider if you get a DP one..
1) have the inside sealed before you use it. Some people use Por15, I used Caswell Coatings as I find it to be harder
2) I had my hinges reinforced. Regardless of whether you do that, NEVER lift a carbon tank with gas in it...the hinges are known to break.
Enjoy!!

bgb. you need to qualify these statements with possible reasons why - such as leaky hinge from being propped up, whether or not the tank was coated, and the manufacturer of the tank.
Vague nay-saying like "i know a guy who had a ducati and it didn't work... That's not really helpful info for a potential buyer. There's lots going on, even in a single piece. The tanks have fillers, fuel pumps and flanges, hinges, sealant inside, and hoses connected. They also have venting requirements and type of fuel can make a difference.

Ato......leaks from hinge, leak from left bottom corner. It was bought as a used tank.
He took it to several places that were so called experts in CF repair. Was a pregnant dog to seal up.
It always leaked after.
Cheshire in Portland OR got it sealed up.
I don't like CF it is a product that is not for me.
After its been on a bike in the sun for several years it fades, the weaves are too inconsistant, and it is spendy. I prefer other upgrades such as suspension and brakes for street use.If I feel the need to go superfast I'll buy a racebike and go to the track.

DDGM, after having seen your bike in person, I was always wanting to do something similar... but was informed that the DP tank doesn't fit S2r's...
Different fuel pump? How did you get it to work?

See me post regarding coating the tank and reinforcing it at the hinges. I have 14k miles on that tank without leaks.
The S2r I bought the original unpainted one from was alumunium orignally. Itwas plug and play for me
