I've become an old man on an old man's bike

WWW

Just an idea after chatting to a few people this week.
With the folk coming onto the board and much talk of shiny jewelery for your bike, aka Bling.

Perhaps group buys of items might be a great way to maximize our collective buying power.
We could have a Rizoma month or Carbon month or a Billet month. You get what I mean.

It's just an idea not a must but I just thought it would be a good way to get the best deals possible.
After the talk of local suppliers etc, I was still shocked to see the price of Rizoma rearsets from the local VIC re-seller.

tell you guys what....I'm picking up my bike from the tuners tomorrow and we were talking about how cheap PC3's are....I could ask and you could have a PC3 month!

Matty, sorry to hear Rizoma didn't turn out, I was hoping there'd be enough fat to trim a little to make everyone happy...oh well....by oS and be guilt free about it...but always give the local a go!

It's not that Rizoma didn't work out for me, it's that some things are comparable to buy here from Bikecraft in VIC.
For instance indicator $78 each here, $41 each US. So I can see that buy the time they are shipped you are paying close to that for them here.
But $998 for rearsets when they are $515 US, that makes a difference.

I'm just putting it out there that if we all made public our wish lists and bought from the same supplier each time our $$$ might go further.

Have been pricing Rizoma in last week, Bikecraft $2300 (Brad did mention discount for total order waiting to here back final price) Reva Corsa $1760 after conversion. Own my own small business so would like to support Bikecraft, if we can all order more with our Aussie guys they may be able to get a better deal from OS.

I need to find someone who has rearsets on their bike to see if they would suit me.  I have a habit of riding with my feet on the pillon pegs when doing highway miles. Not real safe I know - but comfortable.

That's what I'm talking about Caz, a $540 difference is pretty substantial.
I'd be thinking that a serious amount to discount.
But then I guess it be different if we went to him and gave him a $10k order and said righto then let's deal.

Heather I'm sure at Tourismo you'll find a bike to test out, but really anything is going to give you more options than stock
rearsets.

Gino what rearsets are you looking for, Rizoma or something else.
If we are going to start with Rizoma month let's see what can be pooled together as an order.

I don't even want to know how this is possible (I've removed mine) but you can ride my bike next time were going somewhere!

I got told about a DOCV ride happening in Feb?

I'll give the Rizoma group buy a miss but as I alluded too in a previous post, I will be interested in a Carbon one.

Yes me to DosVerde, also need some Carbon, has anyone seen the Carbon Streetfighter style closed clutch cover, its apparently fits the M1100s.

It's surprisingly easy (if you have pillion pegs  laughingdp) it probably helps that I don't have exceptionally long legs.

DOCV ride from Hurstbridge to Trawool 20th Feb according to their website. Or they have their multi day mini turismo in early March.
