I've dragged my feet long enough - I gotta get this introduction posted.
I'm Pete, and I live in St Paul, MN. I've been hanging around the Ducati community for a couple of years, since I bought my 2004 M800 in '05. (Its original owner had it for 1.5 years and was only able to log 400 miles on the odo.) I've also got a Yamaha Vino 125, a Honda CRF50F (for my 8yo son), and a Piaggio BV200 in the garage. Note that I don't actually own the Piaggio - it's just a long-term loaner from a good friend of mine.
I'm not new to motorcycling - I rode my first bike (a 100cc Yamaha) about 25 years ago and have had an on-again, off-again relationship with motorcycling ever since. However, my career and my hobbies have come together nicely in the past few years. I currently own a market research / consulting firm that specializes in the powersports industry, and I have also written my first book which is due to be published later this year. It's a history of BMW motorcycles, and info about it can be found
here and
here. I'll probably do a more 'formal' announcement about this book when the bound copies are available, but that'll be later this summer.
I've donated a few $$ to this worthy cause, and I've also completed my formal introductory remarks. I guess that's all that's required of me. Now, I"ll just sit back and enjoy the show (and maybe contribute a little content, too).
It's good to be here. [moto]
